Academic Projects

Smart Solutions for Agricultural Growth

February 2021 - May 2021

Capstone Project: Awarded grade ‘A’ by the department

Conceptualized and developed POC of an advanced system to substitute the conventional agricultural practices:
i. Weed Detection: Image processing for optimal usage of herbicides sprinkled along the crop rows via autonomous bot
ii. Auto-irrigation and Air Quality Monitoring: Drip-irrigation based on a dashboard for soil and air parameters
iii. Intrusion Alert: Surveillance and notification system for crop protection

Automatic Waste Segregator

September 2019 - December 2019

Pre-final Year Project: Awarded the highest grade ‘A+’ by the department

Cheap, scalable and easy-to-use segregation model designed to sort the waste into three main categories—metallic, wet and dry—for efficient waste management and processing; when the garbage reached beyond the permissible level of ‘smart bin’, the local area municipality was notified for collection via push notification

TiC (in collaboration with Chandigarh Administration)

September 2018 - May 2019

Worked with Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) to re-design CTU’s official Android application (TiC) which facilitated real-time tracking of the buses (10+ intercity routes) along with ETA, fares, alerts, etc.; used GPS data from the buses hosted on Linux servers (MongoDB and SQL), and fetched through python APIs

Awarded Achiever’s Award, PEC (AY 2018-2019) for exemplary work done in collaboration with CTU

IEEE Smart Attendance

February 2019 - March 2019

Worked under IEEE Student Branch, PEC for Android application development; project showcased at college open house

Developed Firebase Firestore based backend for real-time changes; the QR-code based solution reduced the redundancy, latency & inconvenience faced in conventional attendance system, along with personalized user profile for news, events and announcements
